Kanar

Bernard Querton, alias Kanar, was born in Nivelles on 10 April 1967 to a Flemish mother and a Walloon father.

Both his arms were amputated at the age of seven, and he does all his drawings by wedging his pencil wherever he can.

He has a degree in Social Communication from UCLouvain, and began his career as a cartoonist in student political publications.

He currently draws for the Belgian weekly Moustique, the Belgian magazines Imagine and Le Rappel and the French monthly Alternatives économiques, having previously worked with the Belgian dailies Le Soir, La Libre Belgique and L'Écho.
